Fall 2009 LTA 230 Virtual Poster Session

Welcome to the third annual poster session for LTA 230: Library Public Services here at the College of Lake County. Each year, students in LTA 230 design a library program and present their ideas in a poster session open to the public. This year presented a bit of a challenge for the students since the class is fully online. Thus, the Virtual Poster Session!

Five groups of students were asked to plan a program for teens in a ficticious library and convey the basic plan for the program using PowerPoint rather than a physical poster. Students were limited to 10 slides and were required to include information such as:
  1. Title
  2. Purpose
  3. Goals/objectives
  4. Primary audience
  5. Expected attendance
  6. Description of the program
  7. Presenters (if applicable)
  8. Collaborating organizations (if applicable)
  9. Staffing
  10. Budget concerns
  11. Plan for publicity.

Below are the results of the projects. Please click on each link to see the wonderful and creative programs the students designed. The presentations have been saved as .pdf files for you to view.
